Nowadays our waters are polluted with environmental pollution. We wanted to contribute to the solution of this problem and we realized our IMCarbon project. For our IMCarbon project, we turned the waste food formed in our school’s cafeteria into activated carbon balls by baking in the ovens in our school’s laboratory for 2 days at 300 degrees. We released our activated carbon balls in Denizli Pond. Denizli Pond is a fresh water source in Kocaeli that is used by many animals but has been polluted as a result of human activities. We succeeded both in making use of our waste and in cleaning this fresh water source with activated carbon. The success of our IMCarbon project was featured in many news channels. We explained the details of our work and the success of the project in our interviews.
